Custom Fields

You can define different types of Custom Fields to be added to items. The Custom Field can be a required field, a drop-down list of values, etc…

How to Create Custom Fields

  1. Go to Settings | General | Custom Fields.

  2. Click on New Field.

  3. Choose from these types of Custom Fields:

  • New User Field

  • New Asset Field

  • New Ticket Field

  • The next form will depend on the type of Custom Field:

  • Asset Field:
    • Asset Type – Drop-down list of Asset Types.

    • Type – Drop-down list of field types.

    • Name – A meaningful name of this Custom Field.

    • Checkbox to flag Required Custom Fields.

    • Save this Custom Field.

    Ticket Field:
    • Helpdesk Category – Drop-down list of Ticket Categories.

    • Type – Drop-down list of field types.

    • Name – A meaningful name of this Custom Field.

    • Checkbox to flag Required Custom Fields.

    • Save this Custom Field.

    User Field:
    • Type – Drop-down list of field types.

    • Name – A meaningful name of this Custom Field.

    • Checkbox to flag Required Custom Fields.

    • Save this Custom Field.

    Once these custom fields are created they will be visible in the specified type of form.
